Secretary’s testimony alleges former NY State Senator was an abusive boss

During the ongoing corruption case of former New York Senator Joseph Bruno, his longtime secretary, Patricia Stackrow, testified that he was an abusive boss and that his behavior was “demeaning” and “degrading” during the 24 years that she worked for Bruno.

Stackrow described one instance where Bruno asked her to bring him a $1,000 bill for a birthday present for his wife. While at the bank, she was informed that the Treasury stopped printing $1,000 in the 1960s and that the bank didn’t have any $1,000 bills.

When she returned with ten $100 bills and explained to Bruno that the bank didn’t have any larger denominations, she said “he got very angry with me because I did not do what he asked me to do.”
