Former Cliff Freeman CEO Says Boss Was Control Freak

BNET.com reported that Jeff McClelland, the former CEO of ad agency Cliff Freeman & Partners, “blasted the shop’s founder as a control freak who is stuck in the past and is threatening the future of his own shop. CF&P has been on a downward spiral for months. The storied shop now has only one significant client left — Baskin Robbins – and fewer than 20 staffers.”

Study shows more bad boss behavior in recession

The Workplace Bullying Institute conducted a recent survey in which 27.5% of respondents said that their work environment worsened after September 2008.  However, 75% of the respondents said that the bullying began before the current economic crisis.

Gary Namie, President of the Workplace Bullying Institute, said that “the absolute control of an employer is more apparent in a recession.  Namie’s advice for people working for an abusive boss: Look for another job.
